Introduction

This page includes my current playlists for a variety of genres, for a variety of purposes.

Typically, I sort my music by what I’m going to be doing with it. These are the playlists I’m currently listening to, and I will keep them updated with new content. Otherwise I would not want to continue using them.

If you work at the keyboard, you may want to try listening to my work related playlist.

If you like high energy music for the gym, you may want to try my gym music playlist.

This page is consistent with the moral intent of the website, and I will include thoughts and reflections in addition to the playlists that I’ll be using every day myself.

General Music List

Below is my current playlist of music that I’ve sloppily put together within an external music platform for listing. This playlist is eclectic and has not been organized to create a smooth listening experience or one that would be listenable with randomization. Instead, I simply added titles I know I have enjoyed from what I could quickly recall about what I listened to over the years. It is far from being exhaustive, but it will become more inclusive of what I’ve liked in total, excluding what I’ve come to dislike, in the near future.

Some of the music in this playlist is popular, and not as tasteful as other pieces. This is not a selective representation of what I think the finer musical pieces would be, and that would be obvious if one actually made an attempt to listen to these one by one. Instead, I’ve put together this list based on what I recall listening to doing a couple activity types that are enjoyed with different kinds of music. For example, at the gym I want high energy music, and there is little that is really artful in that category, and having few of this kind to choose from, I have to settle for what exists in genres like rap, hip-hop, pop, and r&b. Some of these tracks have a sound I enjoy, but lyrics I don’t really prefer. Then there are electronic tracks I greatly enjoy and find to be very tasteful and preferable, even though among these, I still find some defects and lack of complexity or artistry in the results. Even in some of these that are simple, I still have found very good emotional moments, and I find them to still be of good quality. Some are much more artful and would be within the group I would say is trending towards timeless appreciation.

Of all the music below, what I most like, are electronic pieces, that have some properties similar to classical music, but have no lyrics at all. The very best music to me, excludes the human voice.

The most preferred of all have been a few of Bach’s Organ Works, Rachmaninov and Chopin, and select tracks from my preferred genre, that is not classical music, but electronic music, particularly ambient electronic and synthwave. I don’t find the names of genres to be well planned, like much that has been developed in history organically, non-scientifically, and disconnectedly, but with good initial attempt sometimes. Additionally in my favorite genre would be electronic dance music, or more generally, electronic music with beat and bass, as long as done well. Even though I prefer these electronic categories the most, the execution does not appear to be as masterful as those classical artists I have really enjoyed, and while I like that domain of music most, I don’t think it’s reached it’s epitome, and in the future, probably we will see a development in this domain, that will change music extremely, making finally the classical works of the past seem less of interest, and probably causing some demand to either add new artists to that domain, or update the domain of music more generally to have different cultural expression. I somewhat expect the latter because of the stagnation that has existed for a long time in classical music. Classical music seems to provide example of what will be better exemplified with greater range of artistry eventually in electronic music, which will be inclusive of all that has existed before, and would not preclude live performance possibilities.

In this list my preferred artists are the following:
